Limited information is available. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) indicates the State Patrol responded to the traffic incident around 7:15 Wednesday morning.
Overturned Semi Slowing Traffic on Southbound Hwy. 52 in Rochester, On-Ramp Closed
A traffic camera stationed in the area shows the semi laying on its side on the right hand shoulder. The corn it was carrying appeared to have spilled from the right shoulder, across the traffic lanes and into the grass median.
The overturned semi is on the southbound lanes of Hwy. 52 at the Hwy. 63 North/75th St. Northwest interchange. Crews have blocked off the on-ramp from Hwy. 63 to southbound Hwy. 52.
MnDOT traffic cameras show significant traffic backups north of the crash scene. Southbound traffic is reduced to one lane through the scene.
A snowplow cleared the contents from the traffic lane to allow vehicles to filter through the area, MnDOT says. No word yet if any injuries occurred on when the scene will be cleared.
This is developing story based on preliminary information. Check back for updates as they become available.
