St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- The teenage victim of a recent Minnesota shooting has died from his injuries.

That’s according to a news release issued Wednesday by the St. Paul Police Department. The now deadly shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on Feb. 10. 

Officers responded to a residential area in St. Paul’s north end neighborhood on the report of a male being shot and found a 16-year-old boy suffering from an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen, the news release says. 


He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim is identified as Kalven Sin Suy of Savage.

Six days after the shooting, police executed a search warrant at a St. Paul home and took a 17-year-old boy into custody. He was initially booked into the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault, police say. 

After learning of the victim’s death, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office filed a petition Wednesday to charge the young shooting suspect with murder and aggravated robbery. 

The suspect’s name has not been released. Details regarding the events that led up to the fatal shooting have not been disclosed. 

The deadly shooting marks St. Paul's third homicide of 2024.
