Teen ID’D as Victim of Recent Minnesota Murder
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have identified a teen boy as the victim of a recent Minnesota murder.
A news release issued by the Minneapolis Police Department says officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 2200 block of East Lake St. in South Minneapolis.
Responding officers encountered an unidentified male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A news release issued Christmas Day by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the fatal shooting victim as 16-year-old Isayah Coburn.
The autopsy determined the Minneapolis Teen died from multiple gunshot wounds and his manner of death was described as homicide. A 29-year-old woman was also hit by the gunfire.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment of what is being described as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police say bullets also hit a nearby apartment building.
Officers canvassed the scene and a State Patrol Helicopter assisted investigators, however no arrests have been made.
