Weather Closings for Thursday, December 18th, 2025

The National Weather Service in La Crosse issued a statement warning motorists across the region of potentially hazardous travel conditions developing this afternoon and evening. Conditions are expected to change rapidly, which will make driving difficult at times.

Out of an abundance of caution, several school districts in southeast Minnesota have announced early dismissals to allow students and staff to travel before conditions worsen.

The NWS says, "Rapidly falling temperatures Thursday afternoon and evening may result in a flash freeze on roadways. Snow showers and gusty winds resulting in snow squall conditions will be possible in spots."
