Snowy Road Likely Factor in Fatal Rollover in Southern Minnesota
Windom, MN (KROC-AM News) - Slick conditions apparently contributed to a deadly traffic crash this morning in southern Minnesota.
The State Patrol is reporting that a motorist was killed in a rollover crash in Jackson County near the town of Wilder around 6:20 AM. It occurred on Highway 60, which was described as snow and/or ice covered at the time.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Miguel Heredia of Worthington . The State Patrol says he was not wearing a seatbelt when the small SUV he was driving east on Highway 60 left the roadway and rolled.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office, Windom Ambulance, and the Windom Police and Fire Departments assisted the State Patrol in responding to the crash at the location about 5 miles west of Windom.
