New Snowfall Prediction Issued for Massive Minnesota Snow Storm

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The calendar may say that it’s Spring, but most of Minnesota will be under a Winter Weather Advisory Thursday night.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory around 3:20 Thursday morning. The massive storm is set to produce winter weather impacts that stretch from west of the Fargo-Moorhead area into far-eastern Wisconsin.
Southeast Minnesota and the Twin Cities are included in the Winter Weather Advisory. The snow is expected to start flying Thursday night and wrap up by Friday.
The Winter Weather Advisory begins at 10 p.m. Thursday in Rochester. It takes effect at 7 p.m. in the Twin Cities and starts at 4 p.m. in northwestern Minnesota.
Thursday’s snowfall will impact Friday morning’s commute by leaving slick and snow covered roads in its wake, the weather bulletin says.
New Snowfall Prediction Issued for Large Minnesota Spring Storm
Most of the communities included in the advisory are predicted to receive at least two inches of snow.
Accumulations of up to 6 inches are possible in central Wisconsin and light icing could occur in northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service also issued a new snowfall prediction Thursday morning. Rochester, Faribault, the Twin Cities and Preston are forecasted to pick up 2-5 inches of snow.
2-4 inches are predicted for Austin while Winona and Wabasha Could see 2-6 inches of snow.The advisory is scheduled to expire in Rochester at 10:00 Friday morning.
