Search Warrant Leads to Major Rochester Drug Bust
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says a man is in custody following a major drug bust in Rochester.
Captain Tim Parkin says investigators from the sheriff’s office and members of the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crimes Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Tuesday.
The raid was part of a drug investigation involving a Rochester man. Parkin said authorities served the warrant at a residence near the Northrop Community Education building in the 400 block of 9th St. Northwest in Rochester.
Law enforcement found 50 grams of suspected cocaine, 44 grams of suspected mushrooms, an undisclosed amount of suspected prescription medications, and drug paraphernalia inside of the home. There was also a shotgun and ammunition seized from the residence, Parkin said.
As a result of the raid, authorities arrested 39-year-old Tyler Johnson, who Parkin said is ineligible to possess a firearm.
Johnson was booked into the Olmsted County Jail shortly before 12:15 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree drug sales, first-degree and fifth-degree drug possession and ineligible possession of a firearm.
He is likely to be arraigned in Olmsted County Court Thursday morning.
