Rochester Traffic Stop Nets Suspected Drug Dealer
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A traffic stop conducted by Rochester police late last night led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.
A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court today says an officer initiated a traffic stop around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday near the Highway 52 and Civic Center Drive interchange after observing a vehicle on the highway with multiple equipment violations. The court document says the officer also recognized the driver, identified as 51-year-old Dustin Armin Niemeyer, as a person who does not have a valid driver’s license.
Following Niemeyer's arrest for allegedly driving after cancellation—inimical to public safety—a search of the vehicle was conducted. The criminal complaint says it turned up more than 16 grams of methamphetamine and other evidence indicative of drug sales. That included six cell phones, a digital scale, and approximately 100 plastic baggies commonly used to package small amounts of drugs.
Niemeyer has been charged with second-degree drug sales, third-degree drug possession, and a gross misdemeanor charge of driving after cancellation—inimical to public safety. He was released without bail.

The criminal complaint against him indicates Niemeyer was convicted of a felony drug charge in 2014.
