Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Rochester private school teacher is headed to prison for a child pornography conviction.

Thirty-eight-year-old Wolf Brian Parsons was charged in Olmsted County Court in March following an investigation by the Rochester Police Department. Court records say the investigation was launched the previous month after police received a cyber tip concerning images and videos of suspected child sexual abuse material found on Skype.

The criminal complaint against Parsons says the files were associated with an IP address traced to the Rochester man, and a search warrant was executed at his home. Investigators found 20 photos and 84 videos consistent with child sexual abuse material stored on his cellphone.

According to the charges, the materials depicted mostly male children, some as young as approximately 6 months old, engaged in sexual acts. The complaint also says investigators located multiple chats between Parsons and other social media users that included him sending child sexual abuse material in at least 24 different conversations.

At the time of his arrest, Parsons was working as a teacher at Resurrection Lutheran School in northwest Rochester. The school issued a statement announcing that his employment had been terminated shortly after he was taken into custody. It also indicated that there was no evidence his crimes involved any of the students at the school.

Parsons was charged with three counts of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. He entered guilty pleas in June to two dissemination charges and one possession charge.

He was sentenced today in Olmsted County Court to concurrent sentences totaling 76 months in prison, followed by five years of conditional release. He is also required to register as a predatory offender.

Court records show that Parsons was previously charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure for an incident in Rochester in late December of last year. That charge was dismissed as part of his plea agreement.
