Accidental Gunshot in Rochester Apartment Leads to Arrest
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man was arrested after an apparent accidental shooting at a Rochester apartment.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson.
Officers were dispatched to the report of a gun being discharged shortly before noon on Thursday morning. The shooting occurred at an apartment in the 1000 block of 41st St. Northwest.
Police Arrested Man Who Discharged Gun He was Cleaning in Rochester Apartment
Responding officers found the man suspected of pulling the trigger upon arrival. He’s been identified as 45-year-old Keith Sachwitz.
Sachwitz told officers he was cleaning the gun when it accidentally discharged, the police report says. No injuries were reported.
Grayson says Sachwitz is prohibited from possessing a firearm. The Rochester man was subsequently arrested.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Sachwitz was booked on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality and possession of a firearm as a person convicted of a violent crime.
