Rochester Man Sentenced After Girl Shot in Face With BB Gun
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been ordered to serve a 45-day jail sentence for a conviction connected to allegations that he shot a girl in the face with a BB gun.
Earlier Plea Agreement
20-year-old Jayden Eric Scott entered into a plea agreement in late April and admitted to a felony terroristic threats charge. A misdemeanor assault charge and a gross misdemeanor count of carrying a BB gun in public were dismissed through the plea deal.

Girl allegedly shot multiple times with BB gun
According to the criminal complaint against Scott, Rochester police responded on May 25, 2025, to a report of a BB gun shooting near Silver Lake Park. The court document says the responding officers spoke with a juvenile victim at the hospital, who stated that she was with friends at the park when Scott arrived in a vehicle.

The criminal complaint says she told police that she confronted Scott about an earlier incident in which he allegedly shot BBs at her home. She stated that Scott then threatened to shoot her if she did not back away from the vehicle. It was alleged that he counted down from five and shot the girl in the face multiple times with a BB gun while she was about five feet away.
Two BBs lodged in girl's face
Rochester police reported that two of the BBs became lodged in the girl's face and required medical attention for removal.

What the defendant told police
Court documents say police arrested Scott at his home, where he told officers he felt threatened by the group of people at the park and fired the BB gun in the victim's direction.
His sentencing order says Scott was granted work-release privileges and was given credit for three days he had already spent in jail. He will also be on probation for the next five years.
