According to a news release on the incident, the man then went back into the river to assist the other juvenile and was able to support and push the child to shore before he disappeared in the water.

Elk River firefighters who responded to the scene were able to pull that child out of the river. The two juveniles then told first responders that it was their father who was missing. His name has not been released.
