Winnebago, MN (KROC-AM News) - The mayor of a small southern Minnesota city and his son have been arrested in connection with an alleged marijuana grow operation.

The Southern Central Drug Investigation Unit today announced the arrests of 67-year-old Scott James Robertson and 46-year-old Jacob John Robertson.

Winnebago is a town of about 1400 residents in Faribault County. City records indicate Scott Robertson was elected in 2021 and his term in office runs through the end of this year.

A news release indicates the arrests occurred during the execution of search warrants at three properties in Winnebago. Sergeant Ben Johnson with the Owatonna Police Department is the commander of the investigation unit and says the evidence gathered during the search warrants includes approximately 240 suspected marijuana plants.

The news release says the investigation began early last year.
