Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Olmsted County Detention deputy now serving a nearly 20 year prison sentence for a federal child pornography conviction has agreed to a plea agreement with Olmsted County prosecutors involving two related cases.

47-year-old Matthew Adamson was charged in federal court as a result of an investigation that followed an undercover sting investigation conducted by the Rochester Police Department in 2023. He was accused of attempting to solicit sexual acts from a girl he believed was 13 years old, but was actually an undercover officer.

Adamson was later charged with recording and saving videos of several female detainees that were recorded while the victims were changing their clothing in a changing room at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. Court documents indicated the videos were stored on external hard drives that were found during a search of his home after he was charged in the solicitation case.

According to a Petition to Entered Guilty Plea that was filed in Olmsted County Court this week, Adamson has agreed to enter guilty pleas to four counts of interference with privacy stemming from the video recordings in the county jail. All four charges are gross misdemeanors. In exchange, the Olmsted County Attorney's Office has agreed to drop all of the other charges against Adamson, including those stemming from the undercover police sting investigation.

Adamson is scheduled to formally enter into the plea agreement during a court hearing next month.

Earlier this month, Anderson was handed a 235 month federal prison sentence for his conviction on a federal charge of producing or attempting to produce child pornography. Federal court documents alleged that Adamson secretly recorded 12 and 13-year-old girls multiple times from 2015 through 2023. He was also accused of coercing a minor girl into having sexual contact with him, and possessing sexually explicit images and videos of children.
