Semi, SUV Crash on Rochester’s North Side Turns Fatal
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is now describing the collision involving a semi-truck and a small SUV that occurred yesterday afternoon on the north edge of Rochester as a fatal crash.
SUV and Semi-Truck Collide on 75th Street
The deadly incident was reported around 5:15 p.m. along 75th Street Northwest, just west of the intersection with 18th Avenue Northwest. The State Patrol reported that the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided.
2 Young Children Among 5 People Involved in Crash
The driver of the semi-truck was a 43-year-old man from Elgin, while a 34-year-old Rochester man was driving the SUV.
The State Patrol says the SUV driver had three passengers: a 34-year-old woman and two young children, a 1-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl.
Names of Those Involved Have Not Been Released
The State Patrol has yet to provide information concerning the injuries suffered by the people in the two vehicles, and their names have not been released.
Mayo One Helicopter Called to Crash Scene
State troopers were joined by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Rochester Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and a Mayo One helicopter in responding to the collision.
