Sentencing of Former Chatfield Man in Child Sex Abuse Case
Forty-two-year-old Theodore Allen Mapstone Peters was given a 7 1/2-year prison term that will be followed by 10 years of supervised release. He entered into a plea agreement in June and admitted to a second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.

Investigation Launched Two Years Ago
According to the criminal complaint against Peters, who now has a Minneapolis address, Chatfield police opened an investigation in October 2024 after investigators were told that Peters had been sexually assaulting the victim for several years, beginning when she was 8 years old.

Years of Abuse
When interviewed by investigators, the court document says the victim described numerous instances of sexual abuse. The child indicated the assaults started as a monthly occurrence but "had grown into more of a daily occurrence."
The criminal complaint says Chatfield police later questioned Peters, and he admitted to inappropriate touching.
