This Town Of Less Than 500 Is Home To MN’s Best Ski Hill
Kensington Minnesota, which has a population of less than 500 and is known as the place where the runestone was found, now has a ski hill putting it on the map, so to speak. Andes Tower Hills of Kensington just won the gold for being one of the top-3 ski hills in Minnesota!
The ski hill, Andes Tower Hills, came about back in 1980, according to the business's website. "Who would expect a ski hill in the middle of farm country? Well, back in 1980 the Anderson Brothers envisioned just that, a ski area on Tower Hill. They had a vision for a couple of thousand skiers a season. Thirty - plus ski seasons later over a million skiers have visited the Andes Tower Hills Ski Area-one of the finest ski areas for miles around."
The ski area offers skiing, snowboarding, and tubing options during the winter months, and during summer the ski hill offers up an RV Park with a rustic cabin for those looking to enjoy the area year-round.

Andes Tower Hills was also the bronze winner of the 2024 Best Ski Resort as well.
Second place went to a hill that might be a little more familiar with those from the Twin Cities Hyland Hills Ski Area in Bloomington, and the bronze was awarded to Afton Alps out of Hastings.
Congrats to Andes, Hyland Hills, and Afton Alps for all being voted on and named as some of Minnesota's Best Ski Hills!
