PepperJax in St. Cloud permanently closed in 2022, leaving the building vacant for the past 3 years. Recently, I've noticed activity around the former restaurant building, including work being done on the inside. What's happening?

7 Years As A Place For Philly's

PepperJax opened in 2015 and was a fixture at the intersection of 33rd Street S and Division for 7 years before closing in April of 2022, giving the area 7 years of Philly's, bowls, nachos, and burritos.

According to the restaurant's website, PepperJax has 25 locations still open across the US, with a majority of its locations being found in Nebraska. It doesn't list any expansion plans or opening soon stores in St. Cloud, so whatever is happening inside the building doesn't involve the previous tenant.

Online Records Indicate What Will Be Coming To The Former PepperJax

An online Google search of the property's address, 3219 Division St., gives us a January 2025 press release that spills the tea on what may be coming to the former Philly restaurant.

According to the press release, the former PepperJax location will soon be home to Giliberto's. The moving business will have a "full-service restaurant with a drive-thru window, patio space," according to the January 2025 press release.

A Space Made For A Restaurant

The current space sits on a prime piece of Division Street real estate and shares a 42-space parking lot with other businesses. Whenever Giliberto's opens up in its new space, I can see it being a favorite stop for people, especially with the ease of a stoplight to turn at.

I wasn't able to see an opening date, but if there is work being done inside, chances are we are closer to it opening up than we may think.
