The calendar has turned to October, which often means Minnesotans are looking for things that go bump in the night. Minnesota is home to two reportedly haunted lakes, and one of the two lakes isn't far from St. Cloud. So what lurks below the water in these two Minnesota lakes?

When It's Dark Out, Our Perspective Changes

It seems like as soon as the sun goes down, even the most innocent-looking object or place can take on a more sinister form. In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, recreation has been going on for years, whether it was fishing, waterskiing, or some other form of fun. Once night hits, even the most pleasant lake can look eerie and make you wonder what's lurking under the waves.

According to a few online articles and websites, Menagha's Spirit Lake is said to be haunted by an 'Indian Maiden' who had drowned in the lake a long time ago. The spirit of the maiden is said to scream sometimes at night. It's also been reported by a website that she can sometimes be seen on top of the water, but none of the reports have been substantiated.

Much like the Spirit Lake story out of Menagha, Fountain Lake in Delano is also said to be haunted by an 'Indian Maiden' who drowned in the lake. The maiden can be heard screaming at night, but again, like the Spirit Lake story, nothing has even been substantiated.
