The Maple Grove Chalkfest is officially coming back!

Earlier this year, it looked like the popular summer event might not happen. Now, thanks to a new partnership, the Maple Grove Chalkfest will return, and organizers say they are excited about what comes next.

A COLLABORATION OF  CREATIVE FORCES

Experience Maple Grove, the Maple Grove Arts Center, and internationally known chalk artist Shawn McCann have joined forces to bring the festival back to life.

McCann was one of the original creators of Chalkfest, and organizers say this collaboration will help keep the event strong for years to come.

THE FUNDING THAT IS MAKING CHALKFEST POSSIBLE FOR 2026

Lise Spence-Parsons, President of the Maple Grove Arts Center, says the funding from Experience Maple Grove is helping make this year’s festival possible.

She says the group is excited to move forward with the event, but additional sponsorships will still be needed. Organizers are hopeful local businesses will step up to support the festival.

WHO WILL BE AT CHALKFEST THIS YEAR?

This year’s Chalkfest will once again bring in professional chalk artists from around the world. Visitors can watch the artists work throughout the event as the pavement slowly fills with amazing, colorful murals.

The festival will also include spaces where community members can create their own chalk art. There will be family-friendly activities, food vendors, and opportunities to highlight local artists as well.

Shawn McCann says he is thrilled to see the festival continue and grow.

He says bringing Chalkfest back with the support of Experience Maple Grove and the Maple Grove Arts Center creates the perfect combination of artistic vision and community partnership.

DETAILS FOR CHALKFEST WILL BE COMING SOON

Organizers say more details about the festival will be announced soon, including artist lineups and the full event schedule.

For now, fans of Chalkfest can celebrate the good news that the sidewalks of Maple Grove will once again be filled with incredible art!
