New Cheese Store and Bistro Opening in Duluth
A popular Wisconsin cheese store and bistro is expanding into Minnesota, with a new location opening soon in Duluth.
The new location will be on Grand Ave. in Duluth and will feature a huge selection of award-winning cheese in the store, plus a selection of ice cream, pizza, fried curds, and alcoholic beverages in the attached bistro.
The Burnett Dairy Cooperative owns and operates the Burnett Dairy Cheese Store and Bistro and the Burnett Dairy General Store in Grantsburg, WI, plus they operate the Cady Cheese Factory & Shop in Wilson, WI, this new location in Duluth will be located at 8552 Grand Ave, near the base of Spirit Mountain in the same building as the new Ski Hut, and they say they will open in late June or early July.
Assuming the new Duluth store and bistro is modeled like their Grantsburg location, we can expect over 100 varieties of cheese in stock plus a selection of gifts in the store, at the ice cream counter you can choose from a selection of twist cones, malts, flurries, sundaes, and hard scoop ice cream.
The bistro will offer a menu of grilled sandwiches, pizza, fried cheese curds, and a variety of soups and salads, plus they will have a full bar offering wine, craft beer, and spirits. They also offer cheese and meat trays for parties, you can order in advance or check the premade selection available in the store.
Burnett Dairy is already making itself part of the Duluth community, they recently sponsored the "Toast for Tails" fundraising event at the Lake Superior Zoo, and has done some events with Bent Paddle Brewing, and Wild State Cider.
Founded in 1896, the Burnett Dairy Cooperative has four cheese brands, Wood River Creamery, Burnett Dairy, Cady Creek Farms, and Fancy Brand, all offering a variety of classic, specialty, and artisan cheeses from their Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker.
