It's always good to be prepared when it comes to winter in the Northland! It's either bitterly cold in January, snowy or both!

We haven't seen too much snow in Minnesota this winter just yet but of course, that could all change with one big storm.

I follow a weather analyst on Facebook, whose page goes by Midwest Weather. The analyst is always looking ahead at the next possible system.

According to his most recent forecast, a winter storm could be on the way mid-month and change everything!

The forecast was shared on Facebook Monday (January 6th), sharing details of a storm that might roll up in the middle of the month and shake things up.

According to the forecast, we will see a few clippers between now and the middle of the month and the possibility of our next winter storm around January 17th.

Of course, we all know by now that things change so quickly around here! One thing is for sure: it just takes one storm to make up for months of lost snow fall.

Overall though, we have had a very mild winter so far. There hasn't been one major winter storm. So far, all we've been dealt in the Duluth area is a slight cold snap.

It definitely could be a lot worse! We will see what the rest of the month has in store for us.
