Great News Arrives From The West Duluth Dairy Queen
With record warmth and a record lack of snow, it's certainly been a winter to remember in the Northland. While many in the area have already mentally turned the page on winter and are ready for spring and summer, the fact of the matter is that spring doesn’t officially arrive until Tuesday, March 19.
However, weather aside, there are other signs of spring to be found throughout the Northland. Recently, Gordy's Hi-Hat in Cloquet announced its opening date for the 2024 season, which traditionally means other seasonal favorites will soon be following suit.
That proved to be true on Tuesday, March 5 when another Duluth favorite didn't just announce an opening date, they announced they were now open for business.
The West Duluth Dairy Queen, located at 4431 Grand Avenue, has officially opened for the 2024 season.
Owner Chuck Koltes made the happy announcement Tuesday afternoon on his Facebook page and soon after there were happy comments flooding in from across the Northland.
Also included was a photo of their DQ sign that invited customers to try the new Confetti Cake Dipped Cone.
The new Confetti Cake Dipped Cone is a "cold, creamy DQ vanilla soft serve cone covered in a confetti cake flavored cone dip." Add that to the long list of things to get at Dairy Queen!
I love these annual signs that the seasons are changing and another arrives this weekend when Daylight Saving Time occurs on Sunday, March 10. Remember, before you go to bed this Saturday, set that clock ahead and start enjoying sunsets past 7:00 p.m.
