There’s Now A New Specialty License Plate Option In Wisconsin
It seems that specialty license plates have become increasingly popular in recent years, so states do not hesitate to give drivers a new option to choose from.
Blackout license plates have made a lot of headlines lately due to their overwhelming popularity in states where they are offered. Unfortunately, blackout plates aren't currently being offered in Wisconsin. There was a bill to add them proposed in 2024, but it didn't pass in the state Legislature.
However, Wisconsin currently offers 61 special license plates, many of which benefit organizations, and that number continues to grow. This week, in fact, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced that a new specialty plate was now available.
Wisconsin DMV Releases New Specialty License Plate
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles is now officially offering a new specialty license plate from the Wisconsin County Forests Association.
The Wisconsin County Forests Association, Inc. (WCFA) was established in 1968 to 'provide support to the growing county forest program and acts as a collaborative platform for members to discuss issues, programs, and policies of the county forests.'
The WCFA acts as the single point of contact for its members, rather than having each county deal with issues on its own.

The Wisconsin County Forests Association is a non-profit organization that currently educates and sustains more than 2.4 million acres of healthy and productive forests for recreation and to provide materials to the state’s forest product industry.
The new plate, which is shown below, is a good representation of a Wisconsin forest.
