A small town in Wisconsin is fighting to keep their long legacy seasonal Dairy Queen location. It's been a part of the community for 73 years, but it may soon lose it's franchise.

Dairy Queen Corporate Making Changes

This comes after other Dairy Queen locations have lost their name and either closed or have had to change their name and appearance. Local owners have said that the Dairy Queen Corporate has asked franchisees to make changes.

Dairy Queen has said in some cases they have tried to work with them, but ultimately there has been some falling out and that has led to Dairy Queen taking away the franchise from owners.

Lake Nebagamon Dairy Queen is in trouble.

Lake Nebagamon in Northwest Wisconsin may be the next one to lose its Dairy Queen. In a post on social media, the Lake Nebagamon Dairy Queen says they may lose their Dairy Queen after operating for 73 years.

The Dairy Queen asks that people share their memories and stories on the google doc page. They hope that it will encourage Dairy Queen corporate to let them run their seasonal shop. Other locations have tried to fight back but have ultimately lost their Dairy Queen name.

A name change in the future?

They also ask for opinions on what to name the store if they end up losing the Dairy Queen name. The Lake Nebagamon also asks which partnerships with community organizations and activities people would like to see them work with. This truly is a small town staple in Lake Nebagamon.
