Sections Of Several Roads Now Closed In Minnesota
As the seasons change and the temperatures drop, there are things that people in Minnesota expect to happen.
For example, trails in Duluth close in the fall to prevent damage from the annual freeze-thaw cycle.
Another thing that happens in Duluth as winter approaches is the partial closing of roads in the area. The City of Duluth recently announced that the time for those closures is now.
Annual Seasonal Road Closures Announced In Duluth
According to the City of Duluth, portions of Skyline Parkway, Maxwell Road, and Seven Bridges Road will close to motorized traffic on Monday, December 2.
The City adds that this planned annual seasonal closure will last through the winter season. These roads will open to motorized traffic again next spring, as soon as conditions allow.
The portions of roads closing for the winter include:
- Skyline Parkway from 0.4 miles east of Glenwood Street to Maxwell Road
- Seven Bridges Road from Lakeview Chalet to Maxwell Road
- Maxwell Road from Skyline Parkway to Oak Street
These three road segments are located at the east end of Skyline Parkway, generally from Lakeview Chalet on Seven Bridges Road to the Hawk Ridge overlook.
A portion of West Skyline Parkway, from 0.3 miles south of 100th Avenue W to the far western city limits, had been closed earlier for the season.
