
Brace Yourself: It Could Be A Snowy October For Minnesota
Now that September is here, it's not too unusual to start talking about the "s" word. We don't want to think about it but at least it's not really summer anymore, right?
Once we make it through Labor Day, it's pretty standard for temperatures to cool off and fall to slowly (or quickly) make its way into the Northland.

In case you haven't heard the news just yet, we do have our first official snow of the season in the forecast. The first measurable snow for Minnesota is officially in the forecast for the week.
With temperatures expected to cool off dramatically thanks to an 'arctic blast' making its way across our region this week, it could get just cold enough to get snow in some unlucky parts of the area.
Old Farmer's Almanac Predicts Snow For The Month Of September
This falls somewhat in line with what the Old Farmer's Almanac came out with recently. They always release their predictions two months at a time so earlier in August, we got to see what they say is in store for September too.

I was not too shocked when I saw that they had light snow in the forecast for a few days later in the month. It looks like we could even get some earlier than that, so they weren't too far off this time around.
Looking Ahead: Old Farmer's Almanac Predicting A Snowy October
Now, thanks to the fact that it is now a new month, we get to look two months into the future and there's quite a bit of snow in it. The Old Farmer's Almanac has snow spread out throughout October for out region, which includes Duluth and Superior.

According to their outlook, there will be snow chances for the first week of the month followed by a short break. Mid-month will bring the return of rain and snow mix before a brief break that will include sunshine. So what about Halloween?
It looks like you will need to pack a winter jacket with your Halloween contest. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting snow and chilly conditions for the last few days of the month. Bring it on!
