It's crazy to think that Grandma's Marathon weekend is next month! It is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, weekend in the Duluth area. It's fun for everyone, even if you don't run in any of the races.

Grandma's Marathon Weekend Fun

The full and half marathon take place on Saturday, June 22nd. There is also the 5K option, the William A. Irvin 5K, that takes place the night prior. Of course, you can't forget about Rock The Bayfront.

The entire weekend is packed with fun events from start to finish but these events can't happen without volunteers. If you want to give back to the community or just take part in the event, you can!

Still Seeking Volunteers

With this race being so major, there is a big need for volunteers, especially near the finish line. In fact, staff with Downtown Duluth are still looking for volunteers for the finish line area, with a bunch of different options on how you help out.

There is a need for volunteers on the Finish Line Security team, where you handle crowd control, bag check, assisting the runner recovery areas, and more. This gets you right in the middle of the action!

The role can be catered to your interests if you there is one role you'd rather do over the others. If you are interested or want more information, you can reach out to Cheryl Fosdick.

The finish line is by far my favorite part of the race! The Finish Line Security Team needs about seventy people or more so if you've wanted to become a part of the fun, this is your chance. The energy is unmatched and you are just feet away from the big party at Bayfront Festival Park.

The whole entire race weekend is amazing and this is a great way to get involved in the community. It's truly a once in a lifetime experience, unless you want to do it again next year!
