Farmers’ Almanac Predicts A Dramatic Fall For Minnesota
This past weekend, there was a little bit of a chill in the air in the morning and in the evening and it was so welcome. It has been a very hot summer in my opinion.
I am one of those people that absolutely loves fall so I am always counting down the days until that season hits. I love all things pumpkin spice, Halloween and overall just cooler weather.

With back-to-school season basically back in full swing and only a few weeks left in the month of August, it is finally starting to feel like fall. (Even if it will still be in the 80s today in Duluth. Ha!)
Fall is always a strange one in the Northland because it could be a nice, crisp cool one or we could get our first snowfall of the season. Now, the Farmers' Almanac has weighed in so let's dive in.

What The Farmers' Almanac Is Forecasting For The Fall
Just to get it out of the way: no, you don't need to believe in their methodology! It can simply just be fun to see what they are predicting for our region for fall, especially if you love fall or don't want summer to end.

It looks like, according to their fall outlook for 2026, the upcoming season will be a dramatic one - especially for us in Minnesota. Overall, we can expect a very cold, wet fall season, and one that might even bring us our first taste of winter for the 2026-2027 season.

Farmers' Almanac Predicting First Taste Of Winter - Soon!
According to the Farmers' Almanac outlook, we can expect a nice, warm start to the season across the region in September, followed by a gradual drop in temperatures, hence the 'dramatic' nature of it all.

By the time October rolls around, things will change quickly and significantly. The Farmers' Almanac is predicting that our region will lead the way when it comes to cold, wintry conditions moving into our neck of the woods.
This abrupt change in weather will also be some of the 'earliest and most persistent' cold weather of the season across the country, with the first hint of winter possible by the middle of the month. (This might make October even spookier than usual if it comes true. Ahhh!)

Things will only get chillier and wetter by the time November rolls around, according to the Farmers' Almanac. We can expect temperatures to really drop off come November, accompanied by even cooler, wetter conditions across our region.

At least that is what we are used to for the most part in November. It's the first taste of winter in October that has me a little stressed. Okay, maybe I take back everything I said about wanting it to be fall.
We will see what happens. In the meantime, if you're curious what the Farmers' Almanac is predicting for the season that comes after fall, we have you covered.
