The Pink Patch Project is a fantastic effort that started in 2013 when the Seal Beach California Police Department wore pink patches on their uniform shirts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Since then, public safety agencies from everywhere have joined the effort and the Pink Patch Project says it has collectively raised more than $1.5 million worldwide, all of which has gone towards breast cancer research and education.

In 2021, the Duluth Police Department joined the effort and they just announced they are once again on board and they will also be selling items to raise money.

In the past, the Duluth Police Department has worn special patches while also selling pink patches for $10 per patch. This year, in addition to selling commemorative pink patches, Duluth police are selling pink koozies for $5 per koozie and pink silicon bracelets for $3 per bracelet.

The Duluth Police Department has proudly raised $5,425 through the Pink Patch Project since joining this campaign in 2021. 100% of the proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society to continue their mission in treating all cancers.

Duluth Police Chief Mike Ceynowa notes that "everyone knows someone who’s been affected by cancer and this is one way we can continue our support to members of our community who’ve been affected by this devastating disease.”

Patches, koozies, and/or bracelets can be purchased online by going to DPD’s website or in person during business hours at the Public Safety Building, located at 2030 North Arlington Avenue in Duluth.

If you purchase an item online, email your receipt to police@duluthmn.gov and they'll mail you your items upon confirmation of purchase, or stop at the Public Safety Building and a volunteer will give you whatever you purchased.
