Next time you go to Walmart, you might notice something new because the superstore just rolled out a major change in stores nationwide.

At the time, it isn't known if this big change is in effect in Minnesota and Wisconsin stores just yet, but it could very well be in every single store later this year.

It's all part of a new pilot program the major business is rolling out in stores across the country.

So what's the point of the pilot program? That may surprise you. It definitely surprised me!

The new pilot program has to do with body cameras, equipping employees with them while they are on the clock. These body cameras are for associates working on the floor.

Walmart has been mum on this pilot program but CNBC says that loyal customers of the store have seen the body cameras on employees in certain locations, along with signage warning customers of the change.

Walmart is testing out the body cameras for two different reasons. First, it can discourage and deter theft in their stores, especially during this busy time of the year.

Second, they are using it as another way to ensure safety for their workers. We will have to see if these changes are rolled out in our neck of the woods, or what happens with the pilot program later this year.
