‘Ghostbusters’ Movie Star Shops At Minnesota Scandinavian Gift Store
So, this is pretty cool!
The actor that played one of the original Ghostbusters team members, Ernie Hudson, was spotted shopping recently at a Twin Cities gift shop. Hudson, who played Winston Zeddmore in the 1984 movie Ghostbusters and the 1989 sequel Ghostbusters II, stopped to pose for a photo while visiting Ingebretsen's Nordic Marketplace in Minneapolis.
The shop shared a photo of Hudson posing for a photo inside the store, declaring "We promise there are NO ghosts on the premises".
The shop he was visiting is a long-time Scandinavian destination for gifts, food items, books, and decor, operating since 1921 after being founded by a Norwegian immigrant named Karl (Charlie) Ingebretsen.
So, why was Hudson shopping in Minneapolis?
Well, it turns out Ernie actually has a couple of Minnesota residences!
In a 2019 Star Tribune piece (via BringMeTheNews), the newspaper reported that along with a home in Los Angeles, Ernie also has a home in the Brainerd Lakes area in Central Minnesota as well as a home in Burnsville in the Twin Cities area.
Hudson was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, eventually going on to become an actor with a huge list of credits in movies, TV shows, and even voicing video game characters.
While his role as Winston in Ghostbusters is the role many people associate with Hudson, other movie credits include The Crow, Mr. Magoo, Miss Congeniality, and a number of others. Additionally, some of his TV credits include NBC's Quantum Leap reboot, ER, and Oz, with appearances also in shows like Without A Trace, Cold Case, Modern Family, and Blue Bloods.
