Finally! New Inflatable Waterpark For Kids + Adults Comes To Northern Minnesota
It's about time! Inflatable waterparks have been showing up across the country. In Northern Minnesota, we've been a little behind the rest because we haven't had one until now. How is that even possible when we have the most beautiful lakes?

Earlier this summer, I wrote an article hypothesizing where we could put one in the Northland. Many people suggested places like Pike Lake, near Duluth. Others suggested the St. Louis River, Island Lake, or Fish Lake.
Well, this is a bit more of a drive, but it's not that bad. Splashtown has opened in Gilbert, Minnesota. Gilbert is on Minnesota's Iron Range, and it's about an hour's drive north of Duluth. The waterpark is on Lake Ore-be-gone. It's actually an old iron mine pit that has been turned into a lake.
There's also a campground adjacent to it. Sherwood Forest Campground is operated by the City of Gilbert and sits just on top of the hill next to it. Also worth noting is the Gilbert Off-Road ATV trail nearby. Many people utilize that trail camp at Sherwood Forest Campground as well.
Splashtown is for anyone 6 years and older. That also includes adults, and their website tells you to let your inner child play.
Lifejackets are on site, waivers are needed for children, and in some cases, adult supervision is required.
A 90-minute session at Splashtown costs $25 per person. WDIO's story on this also says there is a 10% discount for first responders.
You can book your session online and find out more information on their website.
