Plymouth, MN (KROC-AM News) - Firefighters in a northwestern Minneapolis suburb responded to a fatal fire early today.

The Plymouth Fire Department says the fire was reported just before 2:30 a.m. at an apartment complex near Armstrong High School. The first fire crews to arrive at the scene found one of the apartment units fully engulfed in flames. One person was in the apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the entire apartment building was evacuated and the American Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced residents.

The name of the victim has not been released. The Plymouth Fire Department and the Plymouth Police Department are investigating the cause of the deadly blaze.
