Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fiery crash between two semi-trucks on I-35 in southern Minnesota sent at least one truck driver to a hospital with serious injuries Wednesday.

Not all of the information is yet available, however the State Patrol responded to the crash in Rice County three miles north of the northernmost Faribault exit shortly before noon. The semis collided while they were traveling in the southbound lanes.

The state crash report indicates one of the drivers, identified as 79-year-old  Dennis Earl Brown of Sioux Falls, was taken to a Twin Cities hospital with what are being described as life-threatening injuries. 

The name and condition of the other truck driver, described as a 65-year-old man from Topeka Kansas, has not been released. Officials plan to release his information late Thursday night. 

The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-35 for more than six hours Wednesday. A medical helicopter along with North Ambulance, the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Faribault Fire Department and MnDOT also responded to the fiery crash.
