Apparent Drowning Victim Recovered From Southern MN Lake
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News) - Law enforcement and emergency response personnel were called out in today's snowstorm to recover the body of an apparent drowning victim in southern Minnesota.
The Rice County Sheriff's Office says it received a report shortly after 10 AM that a body had been found in Cannon Lake in Faribault. The area was hit heavy by today's snowstorm, with the National Weather Service reporting 8 inches of accumulation about an hour before the report of the possible drowning.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies and personnel from the Faribault Fire Department used coldwater suits to retrieve the body of 58-year-old Troy Alan Krenz of Faribault. The Rice County Dive Team, North Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources also provided assistance.
A news release indicates investigators determined that Krenz had gone ice fishing Tuesday evening and failed to return home. Family members and friends initiated a search and located the victim in the lake moments before notifying the Sheriff's Office.
The Midwest Medical Examiners office is now working to determine the official cause of his death.
