30-year-old Adam Fravel faces two counts each of first and second-degree murder for allegedly killing the 27-year-old Winona woman and leaving her body along a gravel road in Fillmore County last year.
The mother of two was reported missing in March of 2023 after she failed to report for her job in Rochester at Mayo Clinic.
A more than three month search came to an end in June of 2023, when Kingsbury’s body was discovered in a brushy area off a gravel road just north of Mable. The criminal indictment notes the location is near the home of Fravel's parents, which is where he was taken into custody.
Last October, a grand jury returned a first-degree murder indictment against Fravel. The criminal complaint in the case says Fravel told investigators his relationship with Kingsbury was coming to an end and that they were preparing to move out of the residence in Winona.
Court records described a stormy relationship between Fravel and Kingsbury that allegedly included a history of physical abuse.

The two met while attending Winona State University and investigators say they had an on-again off-again relationship that resulted in two young children.
In August, a defense motion to move the trial out of Winona County due to pre-trial publicity was granted. The Blue Earth County Courthouse in Mankato was chosen as the venue for the trial.
The trial is on the Blue Earth County Court docket for the next four weeks.
