2 Fatal Truck Crashes in Less Than 4 Hours on I-90 in Southern MN

Blue Earth, MN (KROC--AM News) - Two fatal truck crashes were reported on I-90 in southern Minnesota on Thursday.
The State Patrol says a 56-year-old man from Lansing Michigan was fatally injured in the crash in Faribault County. He was driving a semi-truck east on I-90 when the rig left the roadway and traveled through the median and across the westbound lanes of the freeway, which are closed for construction. The truck then went into the ditch on the north side of I-90 and rolled.
The deadly crash was reported just before 1 PM about 7 miles east of the Blue Earth exit. The name of the victim has not been released.
Earlier, an Albertville woman was killed while driving a box truck on I-90 near Albert Lea. The State Patrol says one of the tires on the truck driven by 51-year-old Michelle Bermel blew out and caused the truck to veer toward the ditch and crash into an embankment. That deadly incident was reported around 9:20 AM just west of the I-90 and I-35 interchange.
